Got an Olympus XA 35mm film camera. Went to test it out in some harsh conditions. Five points on a Friday night. Film was Kodak "UltraMax" ASA 400. Will be shooting on Ektar in the future.
I really like this one.
Wolf Camera sucks at scanning. Dat alignment.
Drunk old guy that wanted his picture taken.

Sloss Furnaces
Sloss was a pig iron producing blast furnace that operated from 1882 to 1971. Sloss was among the largest sellers of pig iron in the world. After its closure, the site was opened for public view. Most of the good parts are sealed off from tourist view with gates, locked doors, and even welded shut doors. Honestly, I was disappointed in the amount that they let you see at Sloss. You can't go inside any of the buildings, or climb any of the equipment. Of course, lawsuits drive these rules.
But who follows rules.
We "gained entry" into one of the buildings.
Ingersoll-Rand steam turbine. They seem to be quite common in industrial abandonments.

The Banana Hotel
The Banana Hotel opened in 1929, and was a top notch luxury hotel. The '70s were a period of decline for the hotel. In 1981, the hotel became low income housing, and then in 1983 it was declared unfit for living, and closed for good. We went inside...
It was 105° the day we went, and I was totally miserable. As a result, I wasn't feeling creative, so my pictures are disappointing.
The basement of The Banana was pretty gross. It had been flooded for years, and has been recently drained. The lowest parts are still flooded, as seen here.
Obligatory cliche TV room that everyone posts.
