Downtown Shopping - Pizitz

Huge, abandoned department store in downtown Birmingham! Epic.

The Pizitz Department Store opened in 1923 as the Pizitz flagship store, and finally closed for good in December 1987.
It has been abandoned ever since, and has become quite dilapidated. It was originally planned to re-open as an office in summer 2012, but these plans to renovate the property have been hindered by planned tenants pulling out, and the City of Birmingham pulling funds. All hope seems lost at this point, as the building still sits in the same condition that it did in 2010, when plans were announced.

We ventured in...
Now you will witness the past, a historic piece of Birmingham, left behind, as time stops for nothing.
The sights we have seen.
